WrensReads Review:
I just don’t understand why the last three books were like needed, besides the build up to Lady Midnight. But that could have started a different way too. The ending to City of Heavenly Fire was not as good as book three, City of Glass. It was fluffed so hard that I questioned if it was a book or my Maine Coon cat. Like cut out 2/3rds of the words in this book and you have the same content.
The only part I liked was about Simon, because then not every skipped away with daisies in hand. Except the very very end with him… you know… the “becoming like everyone else” part? Because no one can be different and be accepted, that would be too weird and unrealistic and not a good moral to go on.
I just… I’m really glad I don’t have to ever read this series again. I SUPER LOVE THE INFERNAL DEVICES AND LADY MIDNIGHT. Like I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH OF THOSE BOOKS. I just… don’t like this series. The writing is mediocre, the story is fluffed and drawn out, and the characters were either flat or annoying. Besides Magnus and Isabelle. They are the bomb dot come dot net.
I just don’t think the last three books should have been a thing. That’s all.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but would you rather me be fake or honest?
