WrensReads Review:
I read this about two hours ago, wanting to relive the magical ride that was the film I saw the night before. And might I say, a magical ride it was.
From the creatures we met,
to the muggles getting thrown into the wizarding mix.
But most importantly, the Hufflepuff that was introduced.
I think it was very VERY VERY intentional that the main character, Newt, was a Hufflepuff. People see them as “the left overs” and “the weird ones” and this movie/screen play should put that to an automatic HALT.
Now, I am a Ravenclaw myself and Hufflepuff comes in at a whomping third place for my personality and characteristics, but my best friend is a Hufflepuff and boy does she bring joy and smiles to anyone she meets. She’s a hard worker and doesn’t let anything keep her down.
Those are characteristics of a Hufflepuff. And those are characteristics to envy and strive for.
Newt here is trying to stop the extermination of magical creatures and in turn, help people understand them and see their value by writing a book about it. He keeps a little suitcase with the creatures that he has saved and is writing about.
…which isn’t the most LEGAL thing he could do. So when a muggle gets a hold of the case and some escape… and some big bad ‘creature’ is killing muggles and all the fingers point back at him… well let’s just say, things get really interesting.
So come with me back into the world of J K Rowling.
You won’t be able to stay still in your seat.
But most of all, you won’t be able to help but smile when you hear that signature music.
Initial thoughts on the movie or the screenplay? I would love to hear your thoughts.
