In Book Three of the series about women in the lineage of Jesus Christ, a retelling of the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz demonstrates that God faithfully provides for His children when all hope seems lost.
WrensReads Review:
Honestly, I love Francine Rivers’ writing with all my heart.
She is so on FIRE for Christ and you can see that buried in her words.
This series is an interesting one that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible and those stories about women. She puts her own twist on her versions on this story, but she doesn’t take out any truth to the story. What I mean by that is even though we don’t know it happened the way she wrote it, doesn’t mean it didn’t actually happen the way she wrote it. She didn’t take anything out of the Bible.
So this whole series is about women in the Bible that are in the line of Christ.
WOMEN.
That’s important because the Bible doesn’t talk about girls too often because back then all us women were good for is babies and sex.

Ruth… I wish I had your servant’s heart.
You are so dedicated to your mother-in-law even after your husband dies. She tells you to stay you go where she goes. She tells you to live your life and you make her your life. You become a beggar just to help her survive.
It seemed to come just so easily for you. I want your heart. You are a true role model.
That’s why Boaz noticed you, you HAVE to realize.
You washed his feet and slept at the end of his bed letting him know you were his humble servant. Even though he was older than you (like way older I do believe [probably wrong like I always am]), you did as YOUR MOTHER IN LAW told you!
Now, I don’t have a mother-in-law, and I don’t have a daughter-in-law, but for some reason this relationship doesn’t seem like the norm to me.
She followed her and worshiped “her God.” It’s so weird to me that she didn’t consider God her God for the longest time.
This is such a POWERFUL book. Even the real book is powerful.
Francine, *claps slowly*.
