Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre.
WrensReads Review:
There are so many..
Retellings that…
It is so nice to get back to the original to see what has inspired so many branches of this world. I mean you have Heartless, Alice, Alice in Zombieland, and Splintered just off the top of my head of books on my list to read and have read that are based off of this marvelous original.
There are some differences between them all. For example, Alice doesn’t make friends with the Hatter, there is no big chase scene with Alice and The Queen of Hearts, Tweedledum and Tweedledee are not in the first book here.
Scarlett Johansson was so marvelous to listen to. I am kind of obsessed with her (but not in the creepy way, I just think she is so great at what she does). She did voices that made my laugh. She already talks with her sentences always ending kind of in a question-way if that makes sense. So she did a great Alice.
I don’t think I really need to go into how wonderful this book is. It is well known how magical and crazy it is. So instead, I would like to show you guys some pictures my sister Michelle and I took for a photography class I took in college. My sister is a marvelous photographer and these would not have turned out as well as they did if not for her.
“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
“I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
“One to be a murderer, the other to be martyred, One to be a monarch, the other to go mad.”

“Off with their heads!”

So that is what I have for you guys. I hope you enjoy your 2016 end reads!
