Uses the metaphor of a landlocked mermaid to explore the situation of modern career women, in a resource that combines original artwork with lighthearted discussions of such topics as courtship, feminism, and self-esteem.
WrensReads Review:
This is a glorious book. The art is beautifully done and the words are puzzled together perfectly.
I would actually give this to the women of my life. Lots of hidden messages with each “survived guide” tip. The age group for this book does not exist because it talks about the young, old, and the middle ages.
I’ve always been kind of obsessed with mermaids so my beloved sister gave me this book for my birthday a few years back. Now, I read this book to get my juices going and to encourage me to get up and do something with whatever is bothering me. I think every woman and girl needs this book on their shelf.
